BULLYING BEHAVIOUR

An incident occurred on Wednesday 20 July which I consider to be threatening behaviour. There have been issues with this individual before and this led me to think again about the reasons people want to be awkward with, bully, or hate, someone they may not even know. This person appears to have listened to and believed gossip about me from one of my former colleagues in the civil service who used to live in my locality. [Possibly people who like to gossip need to think more carefully about the harm it can cause others.]

It seems to me that some people want to bully or intimidate others to make themselves feel superior because of possible feelings of low self-esteem. We are all individuals with our own skills, talents, ideas and opinions. I do not feel the need to instigate nastiness towards anyone else and find it difficult to understand what anyone gets out of doing this; no-one is superior or inferior to anyone else.

The details of the incident which happened when the individual was driving a white works van have been logged and will be kept in case they are needed in the future as evidence. As, if this type of behaviour continues or escalates, the matter will have to be taken further. In this case, the individual, his wife and his employer would have to deal with any resultant publicity.

Relating to a different matter, I would suggest that people should be extremely careful about who they ask to be key-holders with access to their homes as this can make someone who trusted the wrong person very vulnerable indeed.
